There are two types of Epilepsy :

1. Grand Mal.

2. Petit Mal.

Grand Mal Epilepsy is the full black-out / convulsion seizure which people are used to seeing on TV, (that is when Epilepsy is covered on TV!)often sufferers of this type of seizure usually suffer a warning before the Fit such as an Ache or Pain in the back or head. A black-out will occur and the swallowing of the tongue may happen, during the black-out the muscles will cease-up causing wild convulsive shaking motions, this must be rectified as soon as possible otherwise the victim may die.

Petit Mal Epilepsy is the conscious seizure which usually involves a daydreaming / drifting-off sensation, lack of concentration and perception may also be experienced.
