Dacre Pasture Project:

The Dacre Pasture Project covers a single farmstead in Dacre Parish. There is evidence of a dwelling and industry from the Iron Age, the site of a smelt mill for iron making, evidence of charcoal making as well as water management features which are likely to be connected to the Cistercian monks from Fountains Abbey".

Great Ayton Community Archaeology Project:

The Great Ayton Community Archaeology Project started in 2002 with the intention of doing ‘hands-on’ research, initially into local archaeology.

Northallerton & District Local History Society:

The Societies' aims are to encourage and develop an interest in and awareness of all aspects of the area's history, to study and record the area's history and heritage, to work with others to secure the preservation and protection of the area's history and to collect and disseminate information on the history of the area.

SHINE (Primary School Projects):

The SHINE project is offering schools the opportunity to introduce local heritage and awareness to a generation of children that would otherwise stand to lose so much.

Studfold Community Nature Group

This is an exciting new venture in the world of nature to discover the flora and fauna of this remote Nidderdale Hill farm and how the flora and flora has been affected by the industrial and agricultural changes over the years. The site has evidence of Iron Age Workings, a possible Roman camp nearby and iron, coal, lead, marble and lime has all been worked over the years on various sites within the farm boundaries
