1 in 8 Likely to Develop Breast Cancer, and Yorkshire at High Risk

Yorkshire Cancer Research, a Harrogate-based charity, has unveiled new statistics that show how one in eight people in the UK are at risk of developing breast cancer, and people living in Yorkshire are at greater risk.

Harrogate NHS Trust receives £8,000 donation

Times are turbulent for the NHS and many hospitals and other care establishments are struggling in the wake of budget cuts and because of increasing demand. It is nice then to hear some good news in this field, as Harrogate NHS Trust has received an £8,000 donation from Sovereign Health Care Charitable Trust.

Rossett school

School students trained in defibrillator use for emergencies

Harrogate students at Rossett School have been trained in emergency resuscitation. The potentially life-saving defibrillator was donated to Rossett Sports Centre by Jackie and Ken Waight, whose son Richard, a teacher in Doncaster, died in 2009 of sudden arrhythmia death syndrome (SADS).
