Charity Christmas Cards Return to Harrogate

The summer holidays are over and nights are drawing in – it’s the time when our thoughts slowly turn to Christmas. There – on the list of festive jobs are Christmas cards - and whether you love or loathe them, send to everyone in your address book or just to a few, you can be sure that the recipient will be pleased to receive your good wishes.

Charity cards are increasingly popular – and why not, if you can help charities at the same time as buying your cards – it just makes perfect sense!

The largest multi charity Christmas card organisation, Cards for Good Causes have returned to Harrogate this year raising vital funds for the charities they support. The organisation open over 300 pop up shops around the country in the run up to Christmas selling charity cards for over 25 charities in each location. At least 70p in every £1 spent in their shops goes back to charities concerned.

Cards for Good Causes aren’t new to Harrogate – they had a presence in the library for many years prior to its refurbishment. This year not only have they returned to the library, but are also selling in St Peter’s Church where the shop is accessed through the Fair Trade shop on Cambridge Street. Area Organiser Shelley Mills said:

‘It’s great to be back in beautiful Harrogate – we’ve had such a great response from everyone concerned. We hope to help local people buy all their charity cards under one roof and look forward to welcoming customers old and new.’

The shop in the Library on Victoria Avenue has over 220 designs to choose from, plus an array of Christmas goodies such as gift wrap and ribbon. It’s a great way to tick those Christmas essentials off your list while giving to charity at the same time.

Cards for all 28 charities are also available in The Old Baptistery at St Peter’s Church, which is open from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

Both shops are now open and will trade until mid-December.

Volunteers are still needed at the shop in St Peter’s Church, so if you would like to offer a little time to help raise funds for many charities in the run up to Christmas – or just for further information, please contact Shelley Mills on 01243 705745 – or email:
