Harrogate Wedding Fairs: Nice Days to Plan a White Wedding
If you’re planning a nice day and a white wedding, or something altogether more unique, the Harrogate weddings fairs are perfect opportunities to find inspiration. At these events you can start to plan your big day, from the dress down to the flowers, name cards and wedding favours.
There are currently five wedding fairs held in Harrogate throughout the winter and early spring and they are always popular events. They see eager soon-to-be brides engrossed in every little detail of their nuptials, and soon-to-be husbands already filling their role nicely by staying quiet, nodding and smiling. We joke of course, as many modern men are just as interested in the type of chair covers their guests will sit on, and the thickness of card their invitations will go out on. No, really!
But whether you want to go and spend hours absorbed in every detail of a wedding or just stroll around to get some ideas (and try some free nibbles), wedding fairs can be very enlightening. They are useful to find out what you don’t want as much as what you do, and if you have your big day on the horizon they are worth popping along to.
When and where?
Two of the most popular Harrogate wedding fairs take place in January.
The first is held at the Best Western Cedar Court Hotel on 19 January between 12-4pm. This is a full wedding fair hosted by the hotel and Zoe, the in-house wedding co-ordinator and expert. The hotel is a popular local wedding venue in itself and special offers will be available to those who attend on the day. There will also be numerous wedding suppliers offering an array of things you may or may not want for your wedding.
The second January event is an open evening at The Old Swan Hotel, on 30 January between 6-8.30pm. On this evening you can explore the function rooms of the hotel and meet the wedding team to discuss ideas for your wedding. A selection of wedding suppliers will be in attendance too, from florists to room dressers, photographers and entertainers. Admission is free for both of these events.
With February comes The Wedding Fayre at the Pavilions of Harrogate, on 9 February, between 11am-3pm. This is a wedding fair and fashion show with two catwalk shows.
On 16 February Harrogate is host to the National Vintage Wedding Fair, at The Old Swan Hotel between 11am-4pm. This is an opportunity to look at a vintage take on the wedding day, and to see the largest collection of vintage wedding dresses under one roof.
The Harrogate wedding fair season ends in March, with The Old Swan Hotel Wedding Fayre, from 11am-4pm on 16 March. This is another opportunity to inspect this local wedding venue and to discuss your ideas with in-house experts.
It seems that if you’re getting married in Yorkshire, Harrogate could be home to some excellent inspiration for your big day.
