As February has come to an end, March starts to bring positivity with the days becoming lighter and the sight of budding flowers which can only mean one thing… Spring is coming!

With that in mind, it’s time to tackle those New Years Resolutions. Last year, some of the resolutions were to ‘lose weight’ or ‘stay fit and healthy.’ Yorkshire is giving a helping hand to combat these resolutions, and as well as that give to charity at the same time! Win win.

Here’s a summary of what you can get involved with this year in and around Harrogate:

Ripley Castle Pretty Muddy 5K – Saturday 15th July 2017

Yorkshire Warrior – Harrogate – Sunday 30th April 2017

Something a bit more hardcore. Bonus, you can from 10 OR 5 tough miles across the Yorkshire countryside with hills, bogs, 200m river walk, 800m underground tunnel, fire, ice bath, barbed wire, electric fence, crawling, climbing, log carrying plus lots more! This does not necessarily need to be a charity event, although it always can be!

Gung-Ho! Temple Newsam, Leeds – Saturday 20th May 2017

Take part in the Seriously Fun 5k course over giant inflatable obstacles. You will run, jump, and bounce your way around the course. The deadline for early bird tickets of £31 ends 27th February. This is a seriously good fun option so get involved before the tickets run out!

Yorkshire Three Peaks 2017

Each year, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge runs events which are open to all—participants can optionally raise money for any charity, without a minimum fundraising obligation. You can also choose the distance you would would like to do. Although not an easy option on the list, one that will give you one of the greatest achievements!

The Plusnet Leeds Half Marathon – Sunday 14th May 2017

A highlight in the sporting calendar for Yorkshire, the Plusnet Leeds Half Marathon is now in its 32nd year – making it one of the oldest major road races in the UK. Not to be taken lightly, the Leeds Half Marathon is notoriously one of the hilliest half marathons around the country, so get training on those inclines! To enter click here.

We hope this gives you some inspiration to get fit with some fun involved! There are plenty of other events going on in around Yorkshire – from charity dog walks to marathons, contact your chosen charity for their 2017 events calendar.

Good luck!
