Harrogate Christian Fellowship (closed)

Harrogate Christian Fellowship (HCF) is a ‘Cell Church’, firmly believing that a church is much more than the sum of its activities. The most important way in which Harrogate Christian Fellowship is a church is firstly its relationship with God though the Lord Jesus Christ. Secondly, in the relationships between its members and thirdly, in our relationship with the world, our desire to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people of Harrogate and district. We encourage you to come along and get to know us a little better.

2004 developments :
HCF was closed for public worship during 2004; this webpage now serves as a summary of the work done in the latter days of HCF's ministry.

HCF was seeking future closer links with Life Destiny Church (meeting in the Odeon, Harrogate).

Mission:
To be an outward focused, visible church, where all can minister,
grow and bring others to Jesus.

A Cell Church:
Cell Groups is the title for the small group network within Harrogate Christian Fellowship. Individuals who are members of the fellowship are encouraged to be members of one of these small groups.
In the human body the cell is essentially the smallest unit of the human body, hence the name. The cell is also the smallest unit capable of multiplication, and as in the human body cells divide, and effectively multiply.

We recognise that God is moving through small groups. He continues to do this as part of the work of the Holy Spirit within the church. The small groups in our church have been very effective and encouraging. We recognise that there are certain areas that need to be re-emphasised or introduced in order for the church to continue to grow and for individuals to be both adequately cared for and consistently discipled.
HCF adopts a Cell approach to church which will help us toward our vision. Our main values are set out below:

Jesus at the centre: meeting Jesus at the core. Only Jesus changes people.
Every member in ministry: every member feeling they have a ministry and role, key to revival.
Every member growing: every member taking responsibility for their personal holiness and growth in their walk with Jesus.
Multiplication: the spreading of the gospel and making disciples at the heart of cells.
Sacrificial love:Jesus demonstrated love by sacrifice. This is His challenge to all.
Community: the building of relationships both within and outside the cell, produces community.
Honesty: the lifeblood of community and the doorway to Christian growth.

Cell Groups meet at various times - contact the leader or administrator.

Wider links:
HCF has close links with Churches Together, Youth for Christ, Evangelical Alliance, Tear Fund, International Connections and Groundlevel as well as being involved with people and projects in both Guyana and the Philippines; other links include an orphanage in Kosova and relief work in Chechnya.
Groundlevel is a team of Christian leaders, whose aim is to provide support and encouragement. The team is headed up by Stuart Bell (Lincoln). They also host the Grapevine event held each summer on Lincoln Showground.
