Woodlands Methodist Church
Woodlands church, celebrating over fifty years mission and service, is found on the Wetherby Road in Harrogate. Map

Woodlands.... is here to be a worshipping community where all are encouraged to love and grow in the love of God; the church aims to help people find new meaning, strength and hope, enabling people to understand the Christian faith, and helping them to share their faith through service to others and caring for all of God's creation.
Woodlands welcomed Rev Christine Gillespie in 2006 on Sunday 3 September at 6:30pm.

Facilities for the disabled include wheelchair ramps to the church and hall and an induction loop.

Lending library contains a collection of Christian books - a new facility, to be found in the entrance vestibule.

Bible Fellowship welcomed all in a weekly hour of reflection, study and prayer on Wednesdays from 2pm; the last meeting was in 2005, led by Rev Michael Wearing.

Mission and Unity: Woodlands Methodist and nearby Christ Church (Map) are working together not just as members of the Starbeck & Woodlands Local Area group within Churches Together in Harrogate. Each council enjoys cross membership - a Woodlands member sits on Christ Church PCC, for example. Advent, Lent and Holy Week events are often run together and the magazines includes news from each church. More on the Anglican Methodist Covenant is available.

Essence: "An exploration of contemporary spirituality which looks towards a lifestyle integrating body, mind and spirit. A six session interactive programme to stimulate a deeper spiritual life, drawing from the teachings of Jesus and the Christian mystics." The Woodlands Spiritual Matters Team were considering this course in 2004 .

Woodlands Events:
From the summer church barbecue, Harvest Supper (including a Barn Dance) to Dales Singers events, Woodlands has an ongoing programme of weekly and seasonal festivities. The 2006 Christmas fair is on Saturday 25 November from 10am - 3pm
