February: M Power Christian Stewardship Conference, York
Tuesday 12 noon-10pm; Wednesday 9am-5:30pm (day delegates welcome). The
2004 M:Power key event, organised by Faithworks partner Stewardship Services
and including Joy Madeiros as a guest speaker.
It aims to equip Christian leaders, church treasurers, stewardship advisers,
fundraisers and communications officers with biblical and practical tools
for releasing financial resources for local church ministry and world
mission. At the Moat House Hotel (near Ouse Bridge). More information

on the theme of Faith, Hope and Love, including a Celebration of Praise
with songs, dance and drama. The Exhibition runs from 10:30am to 3:30pm

address by Martin Wainwright, northern editor of the Guardian, takes place
in the Lecture Theatre within the Graduate Centre of Harrogate District

Morisy: "The Vocation of Age"

- a half day conference entitled "A positive look at growing old
and being old"
Ann
Morisy is Director of the Commission for urban life and faith, set
up by the House of Bishops of the Church of England, and she is author
of the book "Beyond the Good Samaritan". She came last year
to Leeds to speak about community ministry and offered to come again to
speak to us about the ministry of ageing. Ann is a down-to-earth Liverpudlian
with a real passion for ministry within the community and she is very
inspiring and encouraging.
Please bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
No charge for the conference though donations to help cover Ann's costs
will be appreciated. Organised by the Leeds
District of the URC - open to all. (Map)
