13, 14 & 15 July: Yorkshire Churches on Show
In the Church Pavilion at the Great Yorkshire Showground . The theme "Sowing the Seed" celebrated the diverse ways that local communities throughout Yorkshire bring life to others. Pics available of the school bands - (large file). Displays included:

Cherry Burton Fairtrade village: working towards fairtrade status is pulling the whole community togetehr. It is quoted as "uniting the community in education and action for fair trading in an unfair world."

The Cornerstone Bookshop and Café in Skipton has now completed its development works, providing a cafe and disabled access. Huge stocks of books for children and adults; crafts, music and bible study notes all available.

Farm Crisis Network: helping farming people through difficult times.

The twinning of Holbeck with villages includes exchange visits, bridging gaps to allay prejudice and misunderstanding, enriching the lives of many. More info avilable from Maureen Browell.

The Lighthouse Project is aiming to clear Skipton of drug addicts by loving and welcoming people

The Rural Church Support Network was launched in 2001 to support rural churches and those engaged in rural ministry and mission who deal with crisis in the countryside.

The Yorkshire Tourist Board has developed strong partnership with Yorkshire Churches, promoting churches of all types across the county.

The three year project called the Rural Information Technology Education Service in Northallerton is providing information technology free for the "terrified" in rural Hambleton in partbnership with the local Area Learning Partnership.

Supporting musicians from St John Fisher, St Aidan's and Rossett High Schools provided all styles of music - pics available (large file).

Yorkshire Church on Show is supported by the Anglican Dioceses of Bradford, Ripon and Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield and York, along with the Baptist Union, Quaker Outreach in Yorkshire, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Leeds, the Salvation Army and the Methodist Districts of Darlington, Leeds, West Yorkshire and York and Hull.
