Christmas Services
A brochure listing most Christmas services in Harrogate is due to be published early in December, available from Tourist Info and hotels; the growing listings of Christmas services in Harrogate, Knaresborough and Wetherby are available on this website.

1 December: Care for the Family - Working to Live
7.30 to 10.00pm Seminar series with David Oliver of Insight Marketing; York (Askham Bryan college, Map). Booking: £6.00 each with special offer 'four for the price of three'; more details to follow from Care for the Family, tel 029 2081 0800.

Saturday 3 December: Charities Christmas Market
10:00am - 4:00pm, Cambridge Street, Harrogate. Organised by Soroptimist International, Harrogate Rotary and local charities.

3 December: Coffee Morning, Hampsthwaite
10:00am at Hampsthwaite Methodist Church. Carols, coffee and mince pies. £1.50; all welcome.

3 December: Caring for Life
10:30am - 3:30pm, Chrsitmas crafts sales day at Crag House Farm, Cookridge, Leeds (Map). Calendars, cards, hand crafted items - table decorations, Christmas wreaths, shrubs, walking sticks, nest boxes, farm-raised beef & lamb; Christmas music, food.

Sunday 4 December: Pizza Party for prospective Confirmees
12:30pm, Pannal Methodist (Map). A party for those from St Robert's, Pannal and Pannal Methodist considering confirmation.

Tuesday 6 December: Berwick Grange coffee morning
At Berwick Grange (Map), one of the 60 nationwide Methodist Homes for the Aged. Christmas goodies available; coffee and mince pies, £1.00; all welcome.  More info from Berwick Grange, 5 Otley Road, Harrogate, tel: 566196 .

6 December: Christmas Flower Demonstration
2:30pm, St Mark's (Map); with Susan Staed of Creative Flowers; £3 (£2 for Speakability Group members).

9-11 December: Advent Retreat
An opportunity for young people of the Catholic diocese of Leeds to explore the Catholic faith. Open to school years 10-13; at Myddelton Grange, Ilkley (Map); further details from your priest.

Saturday 10 December: Cutting Edge - open meeting
8:00am at St Mark's (Map) Visual presentation and stories of God's power- please email for more info and bookings.

10 December: Signs and Blunders - Riding Lights Theatre Company
7:00pm, St Mark's (Map). Richly spiced with seasonal songs and carols, Riding Lights provides its characteristic blend of riotous humour, mystery, slapstick comedy and magical glimpses of the first Christmas in Signs and Blunders. Tickets £5 & £3

Wednesday 14 December: Christmas Carols at the YOI
6:00pm at Wetherby Young Offenders Institute (Map). Please contact the chaplain Glynn Jones for more information.

14 December: Christmas Music in aid of RABI
7:30pm at Swinton Park, Masham (Map). An evening of Christmas Music in aid of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution. Wine, mince pies; tickets £12.50 from Canon Brian Abell, tel 526112.

Saturday 17 December: Carol singing and readings
2:15pm on Wesley Chapel steps; all welcome to join in and sing the Advent messages. Led by Harrogate Christian Outreach

17 December: Handel's Messiah
7:30pm, St James Parish Church, Wetherby (Map); Wetherby Choral Society performs Handel's 'Messiah'.

Monday 19 December: Coffee and Carols
10:30am, Christ Church Parish Centre (Map), with speaker Andrew Vertigan of Wetherby Salvation Army. Organised by Harrogate Christian Outreach

Wednesday 21 December: Wetherby Christmas Carol Concert
Outside the town hall (Map). More details via the Wetherby Churches Together website.

Thursday 22 December: Scrub that manger - Riding Lights Theatre Company
2:00pm, St Andrew's (Map). Another seasonal dramatic feast by the Riding Lights Theatre Company: Tickets: £5 & £3.

Friday 23 December: Stuart Menzies Farrant live
7:30pm, St Peter's (Map): Stuart Menzies Farrant with his band, live for the Rock ConneXion Christmas Concert; £10 for four tickets, available on the door or in advance from Wesley Owen bookshop.

23 December: Quintessential in concert
7:30pm, St Mark's (Map). Christmas music from England and Renaissance Germany, choral songs of the early 20th century and Elizabethan madrigals. Tickets £8 (£6) from Harrogate music shops.

Saturday 24 December: Knaresborough Nativity Play
6:00pm in the Market Square (Map). Other services in Knaresborough also available.

Saturday 31 December: Watchnight service
