12, 13 & 14 July: Yorkshire Churches on Show
Stone painting....In the Church Pavilion at the Great Yorkshire Showground. The theme "Living Stones" explored the building blocks of communities, illustrated by pictures of Muker village, Fountains Abbey and others, highlighting places where old stone buildings were given a new lease of life.  Hands on exhibits included the creation of a pebbled fish and stone painting for younger generations. Displays included:

All Souls Barnford and Middleton: illustrating the children's work

St Gregory's church website, pleaseSt Gregory, Bedale: complete with examples of fine foods for sampling, including Ewe's milk Wensleydale cheese.

SPCK, Leeds: Rachel Franklin, manager, presented a selection of books, cards and fine gifts.

In the Church Pavilion, the large display pictures were courtesy Yorkshire Tourist Board and Myriad Books.

Sam (St Aidan's) minding the paint potsStudents from Rossett, St John Fisher and St Aidan's high schools swelled the welcoming team, handing out post cards with details of the event, watching over crowds of youngsters queueing to paint small stones, welcoming and counting folk in and out and helping out wherever asked - well done to all..
