Jubilee Debt Campaign UK website, please2 July: Make Poverty History - Edinburgh
As the G8 gathers for its summit, Harrogate and Knaresborough Jubilee Debt Campaign are joining the many; by coach , leaving from Victoria Avenue, Harrogate, opposite the Library at 6am. Seats (£22) must be booked in advance from Eddie Brown Tours on 01423 321 246, (8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays) quoting Tidal Tour.

2 July: Make Poverty History - Knaresborough
10am - 4pm, Holy Trinity Church, Briggate, Knaresborough.  Whilst others travel to Edinburgh to demand Trade Justice, Debt cancellation as well as More and better Aid for the world's poorest countries, supporters unable to travel are welcome for a local vigil.  An opportunity for prayer, meditation, reading, or just thinking about the issues and maybe writing a letter to your MP or the PM.  More info from Geoff Shepherd, 4 Scriven Road, Knaresborough, tel: 01423 864164.

2 July: God is always with us
10am - 4pm, Holy Trinity Church, Ripon (Map).  A day of reflection, fun and activity for people with learning disabilities and their friends.  Please bring food to share; fees for all: £3, payable on the day.  A Ripon & Leeds Anglican diocese organised event; limited space; more info and bookings: Rev Maria Pallis, The Vicarage, Church Lane, Collingham, Wetherby, LS22 5AU, tel 01937 573975.

Sunday 3 July: Exercising the Freedom of the Borough of Harrogate
2pm at the Cenotaph.  A short time of prayer is led by the Foundation College chaplains: Rev Daniel Merceron, Fr David Campbell and Rev Brian Hunt.

Tuesday 5 July: Town Centre
7:15pm at Wesley.  Local Area Group meeting.

Tuesday - Thursday 12-14 July: Great Yorkshire Show
At the Church Pavilion this year the theme is "Living Stones" with a youthful outlook; pics and links available.  Students from Rossett, St John Fisher and St Aidan's secondary schools are part of the welcome team each day.  Links from the 2004 GYS available on this website.

Saturday 16 July: Titus in concert
7pm for 7:30pm at Wetherby High School.  Tickets £3 on the door.  Organised by Sanctuary Ministries; weblinks and details on the United Gigs website

16 July: Harrogate Male Voice Choir - in aid of Rydale
7:30pm at Starbeck Methodist Church (Map).  Following the appeal by the Superintendent Minister of Ryedale, the Rev Susan Greenwood, for those hit by the recent flooding in and around Ryedale, within the York and Hull District. Tickets: £4 on the door; refreshments available.

Sunday 17 July: Evensong at Woodlands
6:30pm united service with Christ Church.

30 July: Magical Music, Birstwith Hall
5:00pm gates open for 6:00pm performances; firweworks at 10:30pm.  Charity Concert with
The Dave Challis Jazz Five, Biggles Rock Band and The Fanfare Brass Quintet.  All proceeds to go to St Michael’s Hospice and Henshaw’s College Living Life Campaign.  Bring a picnic, chairs, blankets. Tickets £17.50 (£20 on the gate) from 01423 878192 or 01423 814500.

New Wine website, please30 July - 5 August 2005: New Wine in the North on the Great Yorkshire Showground here in Harrogate. Birthed from the ministries of the Anglican St Andrew's, Chorleywood in 1989, New Wine conferences and Networks now support the work of the Church throughout the UK.
Great Yorkshire Showground from the south; click for MultimapNew Wine's first conference week here is being advertised as an opportunity for churches in the north of England to experience a fresh touch from God, and for Christians to be equipped by God for ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit. The organisers believe that the festival will have a key role to play in the advancement of God's Kingdom in the north.
