Sunday 12:30pm - 5:30pm, Monday 9:30am - 5:30pm at St Aelred's (Map). Organised by Starbeck & Woodlands Churches Together, noting:
The labyrinth has been used as a prayer method by people who could not afford to go on pilgrimage since early Christian times. Today we are more likely to be ‘time poor' than ‘money poor'.
By following the route mapped out and completing the meditations and tasks of each ‘station', you are guided on an inward journey towards God through stages of letting go and repentance till you reach the ‘sacred space' in the centre. You are then led back through an outward journey focussing on returning to the world.
The labyrinth is suitable to do as an individual or as a group, and for people of all ages. It will take a minimum of 30 minutes but you are free to spend as long as you wish. There will be somebody on hand at all times for assistance.
