10:00am - 4:00 pm at Manor School, York (Map).  'A day of training, encouragment and inspiration... Equipping and Envisioning Children's Workers and Youth Workers. A choice of 16 seminars and workshops as well as an opportunity to network with other workers and browse through the many resources available on the day'.

1 October: Roll the Rock first birthday celebration

Sunday 2 October: Christian Solidarity Worldwide at New Life church
10:00am at New Life church, Cedar Court hotel (Map). Rev Stuart Windsor, National Director of Christian Solidarity Worldwide (Voice for the Voiceless) is bringing a presentation about persecuted Christians.

Tuesday 4 October: Berwick Grange coffee morning

11am: Service of Thanksgiving at Wesley, celebrating International Day for Older Persons
12 noon: Lunch: light soup at St Peter's, or three courses (for £2.50) at Wesley
1:45pm: Harrogate Operatic Players Concert Party at Wesley, followed by community singing and tea.

6 - 13 October: Retreat Holiday to Provence
The first holiday organised and led by of Dr Stephanie Rybak, WYEC officer from 1998 - 2005, with her new venture Retreat Holidays.  Departure from Leeds-Bradford airport; seven nights en suite half board £599, no single supplement; to include transfers and three local excursions.  Based at the Hotel le Colombier, near Forcalquier in the Alpes de Haute Provence

7-9 October: RSCM weekend, Birstwith and Bilton

Saturday 8 October: Resourcing the Disciple
9:30 - 4:00pm, at St Aidan's school, Harrogate (Map).  This 2005 Anglican diocesan lay conference examines how to nurture individuals and churches, with opportunity for encouragement and reflection.  Speakers: Chris Peck (Peterborough diocese) and Bishop John Packer.  No fees (covered by diocesan budgets), but places must be booked by 26 August with: Mrs Liz Williams (DLC), Ripon and Leeds Diocesan Office, St Mary's Street, Leeds, LS9 7DP.

8 October: Harrogate Methodist School of Theology
9:45am at Trinity Methodist.  With Rev Richard Andrew, Director, York Institute for Community Theology, on the subject of 'Theology and Mission at the Present Time : Karl Barth as Theologian of Mission'.  More details from Mervyn Willshaw (tel 561943).

Thursday 13 October: Churches Together Annual Assembly
From 6:30pm, with a buffet supper, at Ashville college (Map).  Guest speaker is WYEC chairman, Rt Rev John Packer.  Following up the Church Leaders' Wydale Conference, 2004; incorporating the launch of Church House Trust.  Everyone welcome; please advise numbers (for catering) to the Secretary by 4 October.

Saturday 15 October: Yorkshire Baptist Association Autumn Gathering
10:00am - 2:30pm at Harrogate Baptist Church (Map).  A relaxed celebration of God in our midst led by Roy Searle, (President of the Baptist Union and leader of the Northumbria Community), David Warrington, President of the YBA, Revd Dr Martin Scott and a presentation to mark the retirement of Revd Dr Bill Allen as Regional Minister for the YBA.  More info from Debbie Gamble or Rev Alan Mair, tel: 565282 (also on Skype)

Sunday 23 October: Amnesty International
11am at St Peter's, (Map). A special church service to celebrate the work of Amnesty International, with a focus on the inspirtation of Peter Beneson, founder of Amnesty International, who died this year. More info available.

Wednesday 26 October: CVS Meet the Funder
12:00 noon - 6:00pm at St Aidan's School (Map).  "Whether your group needs just a hundred pounds or thousands of pounds, ‘Meet the Funder' is the place to start looking ... 7:15 for 7:30pm at St Paul's URC (Map). "Is there life after Bob Geldof?" Presentation by David Golding (Newcastle University debt group) followed by brief AGM

28-30 October: Fools for Christ
7:30pm Friday & Saturday; 7:00pm Sunday at St Mark's (Map); tickets £3 (£2 under 16s).   A musical exploration of the apparent foolishness of discipleship through music & drama.  All most welcome. More info from John Wood (tel. 870610) - all performances sold out..

Saturday 29 October: RSCM Choral Workshop with John Bell
