6:00pm at Grove Road Methodist church. Service of welcome to Roberta Topham, new Methodist Minister for Bar and Pannal Methodist Churches.  Refreshments after the service.

Harrogate Tourist Information Centre, pleaseThursday - Sunday 8-11 September: Church Heritage Open Days
In association with the Yorkshire Tourist Board.  Many churches open over this long weekend; an opportunity to discover some of the roots and tales of local church history.

Saturday 10 September: What Every Church Should Know About Working With Teenagers
10:00am - 3:30pm at The Moat House Hotel, York (Map). Under the banner 'Critical Impact 2', this training day for churches in the North East explores aspects of working with children aged 10 –14.  The day includes key note address and a variety of workshops and seminars led by experienced leaders plus opportunity to exchange ideas with others working with Tweenagers.

10 September: The Steels @ HYPeR

Sunday 11 September: Gurkha Gala Day
11:00am onwards at St John Fisher school (Map).  Fund raising day with displays, car boot sale, tea, cakes and more.  In aid of the Katmandu ambulance delivery; links: Nepal Trust. More info available from John Shackleton, tel 871255.

11 September: Piano Trio concert
8:00pm at Starbeck Methodist church: music by Clara Schumann, Faure, Brahms.  Stephen Bonner (Violin), Fiona Mayo (‘cello), Alan Bolton (piano); retiring collection

8:00am at St Mark's (Map) A lawyer's tale with guest speaker Ian Knox.  All welcome; tickets £3 - please email for more info and bookings.

17 September: MAD for God - Gap Year?
3:00 - 6:30pm, Nosh from 6:30pm - 7:30pm, followed by concert at St Mark's (Map) The D
iocesan World Church Group are hosting a day aimed at older teens considering a gap year, encouraging them to consider some form of Christian mission.  Key talks: Why should I go?  What can I do? How do I get there? What will it involve? with an exhibition of agencies.
The event concludes in the evening with a separate but linked café style concert by Gareth Davies-Jones (as seen at Greenbelt).

24-25 September: Ron & Jeanette Happ
Mission partners with Interserve on brief furlough at St Mark's, (Map).  Working in Kathmandu, Nepal, as English teacher and children's work in hospital.  Sunday: 9:30am, 11:00am and 5:00pm services with interview at 6:30pm service. Saturday events to follow.  All welcome.
