Yoel Ben David is a Jewish beliver in Jesus from Isreal working for Jews for Jesus. Before coming to faith in Y'shua (Jesus), Yoel practiced orthodox Judaism and was involved with the Hassidic Breslov movement. He served his military term in the rabbinical corps of the IDF. An avid learner, he was actually attending a Yeshiva (Rabbinic Theological College) in Jerusalem when his studies, amazingly, led him to accept Y'shua as the Messiah. Yoel is fluent in English, French and Hebrew. Yoel's wife, Adel, is also an Israeli Jewish believer in Y'shua with a German family background. They have two young children, Noa and Boaz.

7:30pm at St Mark's (Map) as part of their tour of Ripon, Knaresborough, Leeds, Scarborough, Bridlington, Pickering, Pocklington & York. The Emerald Community Singers of Montserrat are celebrating their 35th anniversary in association with Girlguiding North East England. Tickets £5, in aid of the 'Alliouagana Challenge'. 2:30pm at St John's, Bilton (Map). An opportunity to support the work of Gavin McClintock as a doctor at Bethesda Medical Clinic in Haiti where the average income is 60 pence per day.
This sheep hunt takes the form of a quiz loosely based on Jesus' recounting of a shepherd searching for the one missing sheep. Refreshments from 3pm; sheep hunt entry fee: 50p. More info from Caroline Wise, tel:

Sunday 20 August: Churches Together, South Side Area Group Pilgrimage
Afternoon pilgrimage around the churches in the Area Group for Leeds Road and Otley Road churches. Itinerary:
Meet at 3:30pm in St Mark's car park, walking around Oatlands, then via Green Lane and Beckwith Road to All Saints, stopping for refreshments at Harlow Hill, turning into Arthur's Avenue to the Grammar School and back to Cold Bath Road and St Mary's Resource Centre, then Trinity with a shared meal at St Mark's.
Thursday 24 August: DYE band live

10:00 - 12:30pm at the church of St Mary Magdalen, Ripon, with Canon Ronald McFadden. Organised by the Anglican Ripon and Leeds diocesan Ministry of Healing Task Group
 25-28 August: Bilton Area Group at Greenbelt
The young people and their leaders from several churches across Harrogate join in pilgrimage to Cheltenham Racecourse (Map) for this annual festival of Christian arts and music. The theme for 2006 is Redemption Songs.
