Christmas Services
A brochure listing most Christmas services in Harrogate is published early in December, available from Tourist Info and hotels.
Friday 1 December: Maranatha; at prayer
7:30pm at St Andrew's, Starbeck (Map). Third meeting of the interdenominational prayer group. More information from Mrs Elizabeth Crewe, tel: 886705
Saturday 2 December: Craft & Gift fair
10 - 12 noon, at Starbeck Methodist, (Map) - all very welcome
2 December: Pray without ceasing : Christmas journey labyrinth
10:00am - 4:00pm: Gracious Street Methodist Church, Knaresborough. Following the popularity of the 24/7 prayer weekends and the new prayer room, a prayer labyrinth will be open in Gracious Street Methodist Church in Knaresborough during their Christmas Fayre. It will take the theme of a Christmas journey with interactive, reflective and symbolic prayer stations laid out along a pathway. Everyone welcome. More info from Sharon Inman, tel 01423 863780.
2 December: Advent Quiet Day
A Quiet Day in Dacre United Reformed Church. All welcome to the whole day or just 'pop in' for a few minutes of peace and quiet, including an Ecumenical service of Communion at 12:15pm. John Usher writes: 'After the Prayer Breakfast on 6 December at the Central Methodist church, St Saviourgate, there will be an open meeting to further discuss and pray about plans for 'Redeeming our Communities', and 'Hope 08'. It will also be an opportunity to hear about some of the things that are already being considered or taking place.'
