8 January: St Mary's celebration of ministry
10:45am St Mary's, off Cold Bath Road (Map). A morning service to celebrate nearly ninety years of worship, prayer and ministry at St Mary's church. The guest list including those who have ministered and worshipped as part of the congregation over the years. With its Harrison organ, installed in 1919, and its music group of the present day, this act of celebration has at its heart the gratitude to God for the good works and to pray for the continuing ministry as the congregation moves on.

7:30pm at Starbeck Methodist Church, (Map). Part of the chapel's 75th Anniversary celebrations. Admission: £4 including refreshments.
15 January: St Mary's at Harrogate Grammar School
10:45am at Harrogate Grammar School (Map) . The first morning service after the closure of the church due to excessive rebuilding costs.
16 January: Bar, Bilton Grange and Grove Road LEP discussions
7:30pm at Grove Road. The discussions progressing towards the consideration of LEP options continue. This meeting open to members of teh three churches concerned.
 18-25 January: Week of Prayer for Christian Unity: Where two or three...
The theme "Where two or three are gathered in my name" (Matthew 18 v20) has been adapted from the World Council of Churches material by Churches Together in Britain and Ireland. Churches across the UK take time to pray and worship together during this week; Harrogate churches see pulpit swaps and times of prayer together; the Town Centre churches meet between 12:45pm and 1pm for prayer (see below).

Michael Ramsden, The Zacharias Trust
New Life church welcomes Michael Ramsden for this weekend:
the Zacharias Trust exists to reach those who have objections and questions about the Christian faith, as well as to equip Christians to share their faith with confidence.
Michael Ramsden, who grew up in the Middle East and has researched in Law and Economics, taught Moral Philosophy and lectured for the International Seminar on Jurisprudence and Human Rights in Strasbourg. His informal lecture - to include opportunity for questions - has been entitled "Is Christianity Arrogant?".
