March: Lenten groups
At this time of year, Christians take time to consider their faith and relationship with God in ways that allow space and time to reflect.  Many churches run Lent courses with times of study, prayer, teaching and meditation - such as the event on Saturday 11 March - see below. A draft page listing Lenten and Easter events is available - note that many events are as yet unconfirmed.

March: Jubilee Debt Campaign Harrogate & Knaresborough
The 'Cut the Strings' campaign is highlighting the need to tackle the conditions attached to debt relief. Further local info from Beryl Tierney, tel 508460. Links and past local events available on this website.

Thursday 9 March : Harrogate Anglican Deanery Clergy Chapter
8:00am, St Mark's, Leeds Road. Breakfast with the Bishop. For clergy of the Anglican Harrogate Deanery.

Saturday 11 March: The Shining Wilderness - Lenten Reflections
10:00am - 4:00pm at the Convent, 35 Oatlands Drive (Map); a day of reflection led by Kathy Galloway, leader of the Iona Community.  Shared lunch; tea and coffee provided; collection for the ongoing work of the Iona Community. Organised by Starbeck & Woodlands CT Area Group

11 March: The Present in boxes
7:30pm at Starbeck Methodist Church, (Map).  Part of the chapel's 75th Anniversary celebrations.  Admission: £4 including refreshments.

Sunday 12 March: Methodist circuit alternative worship
Evening worship at 6:30pm in many styles including Taizé and Iona across the Methodist churches of Harrogate:

12 March: Ripon YfC Commissioning
6:30pm, Harrogate Road Methodist Church (Map) with speaker Richard Bromley. Ripon YfC have appointed Joe Royle and John Hunt (Summerbridge / Pateley Bridge) to work for Ripon YfC on a job share of 25:10 hours respectively.

12 March: Youth Service, Bilton
7:30pm at St John's, Bilton. This service is entitled 'It's not majic, it's a miracle!'; bring a cushion.

12 March: Youth Service at Ashville College
One Word leading the Methodist circuit youth service, in association with Pannal and Beckwithshaw Churches Together.

Tuesday 14 March: Churches Together, Town Centre Area Group
7:30pm at West Park URC (please use Raglan Street entrance). Planning meeting for the Town Centre Area Group

Wednesday 15 March: Spotlight on Phil Willis MP
1:00pm at Wesley (Map). An opportunity to put the MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough on the spot. [Ed: Phil Willis was called away to London; new speaker from CVS.] All welcome.

15 March: Design & Chance, Creation & Evolution

Friday 17 March: Lydia Fellowship International, Ripon

10:30am at Grove Road Methodist church (Map) to raise funds for the kitchen.

18 March: Healing School
Organised by Harrogate New Life Church. Healing School with Derek Brown, Cedar Court hotel (Map). The teaching sessions commence at 9:30am with coffee, closing by 1:30pm. Worship is led by Yarden (formally Namelessmusic) . The evening celebration at 7:30pm is open to all the family. No fees; offering to defray expenses during the evening celebration.

18 March: New Wine Women and the Kingdom

19 March: Rev Tony Hearle
10:45am at Starbeck Methodist Church, (Map).  Part of the chapel's 75th Anniversary celebrations.  Tony was minister at Starbeck from 1963 - 69.

Saturday 25 March: CMS Members' Day: Uganda

Special services across the churches to celebrate the relationships that shape and direct our lives - especially those who nurture us.

27 March - 7 April: Bible Exhibition
at Woodfield Gospel Hall (Map). A large exhibition with additional special features for parties from schools and youth groups.
