Yorkshire Church on Show at the Great Yorkshire Show 8/9/10 July
"The Good Shepherd"... John 10: "I know my sheep and my sheep know me".  A peaceful opportunity to explore and reflect upon the Christian Gospel in everyday life amidst the rush and bustle of the Great Yorkshire Show. Newsletter available (pdf, 239kb).
Some 4,500 people visited the Church Pavilion this year.

The story of the Good ShepherdFocus is particularly given to the Good Shepherd, knowing his flock by name, feeding them, leading them to places of refreshment, protecting them, leading them through places of danger, rescuing them and bring them safely home.

Refreshment with reflections in the prayer poolThe first display re-tells the story of the Good Shepherd using an animated powerpoint show.

The place of danger with footsteps; click for enlarged picture with 'danger cards'Reflections in the prayer pool come from inspiring images of creation shown on a screen (funded by Church House Trust in February 2008).

Ewenice's red eyes will return to normal as you move your mouse away...The place of danger includes footsteps to help lead the way through the difficulties and dangers in the world around us, in farming and in each of our lives.

Ewenice provided opportunity to try a puzzle - the sheep's eyes light up if the wand touched the outline copper wire. [Check the red eyes - with your mouse]

Adding names to the sheepfoldThe end wall of the display became covered by thousands of sheep - each one with the name of a visitor. The display illustrated how each of us is called by name.

Yorkshire Church on Show has its own website.
