4 - 27 July: Harrogate International Festival Fringe: West Park
West Park United Reformed Church Summer Festival of Art and Music Map:

Tuesday 8 July: The GM Debate - your say
The opportunity for local debate at Wesley Chapel, Harrogate. The panel of speakers included Dr Sue Mayer (Genewatch), Prof David Cove (University of Leeds) and Robert Greensit (GM Trials farmer). A summary of key points is available.

Saturday 12 July: Tetrafide at HYPeR
Between 3pm & 8pm members of Bilton YC, Grove Road Homeless Project and St John Fisher will see their series of workshops lead to a celebration. North Yorkshire Council's CYC & Youth Music Action Zone have enjoyed a series of Percussion workshops with the Australian Percussion ensemble Tetrafide. More info on Tetrafide available. Saturday 19 July: Retreat at Ampleforth Abbey
Co-organised by Starbeck & Woodlands Local Area of Churches Together. All ages welcome to a day of scripture reading and prayer at Ampleforth Abbey - for Christians of all denominations. the day will commence at 10:30am and draw to a close around 3:30pm. Soft drinks provided; please bring your own lunch; dip in and out, enjoy all there is to offer in the surrounding countryside. Further details available and bookings from the secretary.

Sunday 20 July: Car Treasure Hunt - Bible Society
All welcome to join this summer event: meet at Starbeck Methodist Church Map car park for a 2pm start. We're aware that the last clue should lead you to Hampsthwaite ... by 5pm! Stay on for the buffet supper and an evening service. Next local Bible Society event: 22 September.

26 - 31 July or 31 July - 5 August: Oasis Youth Action Community Week
Passed on by the West Yorkshire Ecumenical Council: an opportunity to spend six days in the summer working with Oasis in some of Britain's toughest cities to demonstrate that faith works. The excellent Faithworks Passion initiative (I John 3:18) is giving young people in our congregations the chance to release God's passion in the community. Locations available: Birmingham, Bristol, Derby, Leeds, London
