'Cancel the Debt s'il vous plait' buffet supper with a French
flavour, followed by guest speaker
Kwesi Owusu, Ghanaian and co-leader of the global justice organisation
Southern Links.
Kwesi was responsible for the Jubilee 2000 campaign in Africa. A
chance to hear the latest on the issue of debt cancellation, from a speaker

Why S'il vous
plait? The impetus for this special evening came from the G8 meeting

is on this forthcoming 'French Connection' and our chance to press the
case for full debt cancellation with the world leaders meeting there.

May - 1 June, 3pm: Christian Ecology Link Spring Weekend
Celebrate
God's creation! June 1st is Conservation Sunday and June 5th is World
Environment Day. To mark these events Christian Ecology Link, which since
1981 has been leading the debate on Christian responses to environmental
concerns, is holding a Spring Houseparty in the Yorkshire Dales
The
aim of the weekend is to celebrate God's Creation in Spring through informal
discussions, music, walks in the local area, sharing environmentally friendly
food, and participating in worship at a local church. There will also
be presentations on the work of Christian Ecology Link aimed at supporting
the work of individuals in spreading the green message in their own parishes
and communities. The
weekend is open to everyone, members and non-members alike, for all the
time, or for just one day or session. All activities will be optional.
The
venue - Ragged Hall, Rathmell, near Settle, North Yorkshire
(but on the border with Lancashire) - is served by two railway stations
(Giggleswick and Settle), both four miles away. Lifts can be arranged
from either of the stations. Extra activities are being offered for people
who would like to come a day early: a) a visit with an expert botanist
to see some of the special limestone flora of the area, or b) the chance
to visit Gaping Gill cave while the Bradford Potholing Club Winch is set
up.

soak the area in prayer as a preparation for evangelism.
