Meets
at 7:30pm, at
St Mark's
church, Leeds Road, Harrogate Map
- the bi-annual gathering of the six local areas for fellowship and to
develop the working life of the wider Church both in the Local Area Groups

20 September: Exodus - Why people are leaving the church
WYEC
write that there is a day conference called Exodus
on 'Why people are leaving the Church'. 10am - 3pm on Saturday
20 September 2003 at Ward Green Baptist Church, Barnsley. Book in advance

20 September: SASRA - Harrogate and District Rally
This
year's rally starts at 7:30pm on Saturday 20 September 2003 at
the premises of Jennyfields Evangelical Church. Stephen Carter and Alistair
Stewart (RAF Lincoln) from the Soldiers and Airmen's Scripture Reader's
Association will be reporting on their work among Forces personnel. Refreshments

21 September: The Gathering
Holy
Trinity, Ripon, starts at 7pm with a short service of drama and music,
with opportunity to Chill out, a Question room, space to sit and read,
a Prayer corner and communion, and a place to just sit and talk. More

22 September: Bible Society Autumn Talk
All
welcome to St
Mark's church, Leeds Road, Harrogate Map
at 7:30pm for this Churches Together supported event. The speaker
is Revd Stuart Burgess BD MeD MTH, a past president of the Methodist Conference
and chairman of the York and Hull district.

September: The Fisherman Remembers
At
St Mark's
church, Leeds Road, Harrogate Map
at 7:30pm; tickets £7, students £5. The
Fisherman Remembers looks at the life-changing events in the life
of the apostle Simon Peter from 'broken reed' to the foundation of the
church. This musical extravaganza, written and performed by Eric Delve
with songs from Mal Pope is supported by UCB
and Gold records.

September: KSHPI Day of Prayer
The
Prayer Day will extend into a Day of Prayer for the Nations, meeting at
St Andrew's, Starbek (Map)
from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm on Friday 26 September and continuing on Saturday
the 27th from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm. Part organised by Knaresborough
Community Church.

September - 5 October: British Food Fortnight
Billed
as a national celebration of our regional food and drink, British
Food Fortnight events have been timed especially to coincide with
Harvest Festival services across Britain - promoted in the literature.
Starting
3/4 September: introduction to a Certificate in Ecumenical Theology
WYEC
also inform us that there are local opportunities for a one-year
course leading to a Certificate in Ecumenical Theology for
those who live within reasonable distance of York or Stokesley:
35 Wednesday evenings in York (St Bede's Roman Catholic Pastoral Centre)
starting 3 September, or
35 Thursday evenings in Stokesley (Stokesley Methodist Church), starting
4 September.
Cost: £60 per term; £90 per married couple with only one salary.
