Members have notably diverse styles.  Being photographers,  they first capture images in a digital camera or a conventional camera for subsequent digitisation.  Computer techniques are used: -

(a) by classical photographic enthusiasts, either to emulate or supplement darkroom and other techniques in order to enhance photographic qualities.

(b) by those seeing photography as a art-form, especially when combined with digital imaging.  They use modern software tools to provide an extended range of imaginative and artistic techniques, creating images that range from classical, through impressionistic to totally abstract.  They have participated in joint print exhibitions with several of the local art groups.

An e-mail group is operated for the benefit of members only, via a listserver with extended facilities, hosted by Yahoo (see Yahoo Groups)

    Mike Brown, MSc; ARPS;

Mike concentrates on pictorial, creative and computer generated images; his output ranging from classical photography to pure creative abstract.  He offers a friendly challenge to purist photographers, some of whom find seem computer generated images anathema :-).  He sees the integration of photographic and generated imagery as a valid art form that will characterise this era.  Abstract images are evocative to him, in a similar sense to the later work of the artist Kandinski.  He believes that it  is up to  the observer to use his/her own imagination to interpret creative abstract images.  He became an Associate of the Royal Photographic Society in 1988; has had slides accepted in a number of international salons; and is a past president of the Harrogate Photographic Society.
