Take your seat for a night of fairy tales and surprises.

The final concert in this season sees the Harrogate Philharmonic orchestra joined by a Yorkshire-born soloist to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.25.

Mozart wrote no cadenza in the first movement as he planned to perform the work himself. The audience must wait in anticipation to hear how pianist William Green will interpret this, given his ‘immense musicality as well as technical skill.’

The concert, on Saturday 2nd July at 7:30pm in the Wesley Chapel, Oxford Street, Harrogate, will open with a playful journey through some of our most loved fairy tales including Beauty and the Beast and Tom Thumb in the Mother Goose Suite by Ravel.

The concert will also provide a wonderful opportunity to hear Beethoven’s Fourth, the least known and performed of his symphonies. Whilst it may be overshadowed by the giants that surround it, the Eroica and the Fifth Symphony, its lyrical and cheerful tone provide the listener with a great deal to appreciate.

Tickets are available in advance from the website www.harrogatephilharmonicorchestra.org.uk (with Paypal), P&C Music in Harrogate and Castlegate Books in Knaresborough and on the door priced at £10 adults, £5 students with cards and under 16s and carers assisting wheelchair users are free.
