Harrogate International Festivals is proud to present the Young Musician Soh-Yon Kim as part of the 50th Harrogate Festival.

Her albums and multiple awards, along with an appearance on Later… With Jools Holland, have gained Julie Fowlis a legion of famous fans such as Bjork, Ricky Gervais and Radiohead drummer Phil Selway.

The Gaelic singer, who is deeply influenced by her early upbringing in the Outer Hebrides, has performed with artists as varied as Aled Jones and James Taylor. Her most recent studio album of traditional songs in Gaelic, ‘Every Story’, received five-star glowing reviews.

Forever recognised for singing the theme song to ‘Brave’, Disney Pixar’s Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA winning animated film, set in the ancient highlands of Scotland, the song became a worldwide smash hit. Nominated as ‘Folk Singer of the Year’ at the 2015 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, and ‘Best Artist’ at the Songlines World Music Awards 2015, Julie is the glorious Gaelic singer who has intoxicated audiences around the world.
