Harrogate International Festivals is proud to present the Young Musician Martin James Bartlett as part of the 50th Harrogate Festival.
Martin James Bartlett began studying piano aged 8 at the Royal College of Music Junior Department. In 2014 aged 17, he won the BBC Young Musician Competition – the year he also made his debut at the BBC Proms.
Bartlett presents a selection of Rachmaninov’s 13 Preludes, from the dark and brooding No.10 and the surprisingly upbeat No.5, to the most popular of the Preludes, No. 12, which features the well-known Dies Irae theme. The programme closes in emotional turmoil with one of Prokofiev’s War Sonatas including some of his most dissonant music. Join us for what promises to be a captivating performance.
Tickets: £10. Available online: http://harrogateinternationalfestivals.com/whats-on/ ; over the phone on 01423 562 303; or in person at the Harrogate International Festivals Box Office, 32 Cheltenham Parade, Harrogate, HG1 1DB
