Harrogate Theatre

Over the past 107 years, Harrogate Theatre is the centre of culture and entertainment in town.

Harrogate Theatre is the centre of culture and entertainment in town and one of the most popular attractions in the area. We offer an exciting, jam-packed programme of variety, music, dance and much more in this gorgeous, historic venue.

Over the past 107 years Harrogate Theatre has showcased a plethora of famous names, from Charlie Chaplin to Sarah Bernhardt, Arnold Ridley, Martin Shaw and Ben Kingsley, among many other stars. Today it remains a cultural hotspot where you can watch award-winning drama, take in a musical, see a world famous stand-up comic and see ballet companies perform. There are shows suitable for people of all ages and tastes and innovative new shows are being developed all the time.

Harrogate Theatre itself is a beautiful building, grandly designed just before the turn of the 20th century. It was designed by renowned architect and theatre designer Frank Tugwell, with all the mod cons you could get back then, including fire extinguishers and a sprinkler system. It was lavishly decorated and today the theatre still makes a real impact on our many visitors, whether they are here to see some contemporary drama or a Christmas pantomime. This is thanks to significant renovations and restorations which were undertaken between 2007-2009.

If you enjoy a cultured night out and some live entertainment then Harrogate Theatre is the place to come. Take a look at what’s on via our harrogatetheatre.co.uk and plan your next night out in a beautiful venue where you can see scores of talented actors, dancers and musicians at work.
