Northern Animal Sanctuary

Other pages on the JERRY GREEN FOUNDATION TRUST include the Introduction page and Contact Details for all the sanctuaries.

The Northern Animal Sanctuary is managed by Hilary and Chris Milnes and ran with the help of two additional staff, one of which is a resident in a bed sit attached to the Milnes building.

The sanctuary re-homes about 30 dogs a month of which 99% are strays.  The trust however asks for a £30 donation on each dog re-homed, this is needed to help run and maintain the sanctuary.  The northern sanctuary has a lot to offer with 22 rescue kennels for unwanted dogs, 6 boarding kennels, 3 cat houses, a stable for one horse, a pig, and chickens.  There is also a garden of rest for people to bury their pets.

undraising

The
JERRY GREEN FOUNDATION TRUST relies totally on donations to fund its cause, with this in mind there are is an open day in June.  At the open day there are stalls, a bouncy castle, pony rides, dog shows etc.  There is often a Jerry Green stall at other events in the area such as car boot sales and shows.

There are often events held in the local public house near Thirsk such as country and western nights where there is a trombola.

There is a shop at the sanctuary that supplies dog owners with items such as leads, collars, toys etc.  There is also various literature including newsletters and books, one of these been Happy Tails,
its a collection of true stories, poems, pictures and photos about dogs.  There is also a new video that tells the story of the JERRY GREEN FOUNDATION TRUST from august 1961.
