The tennis section is a thriving club with tennis available for players of all standards.
It is a members’ club, run by committed volunteers. Our aim is to encourage players of all standards to enjoy their tennis and increase the playing standards amongst members.
We have over 300 adult and junior members, which means that you can always find a social or competitive game of tennis. Club Play is open to all members on four different days each week: so come along and join in. There is no booking required: just come along and play, meet other members, and enjoy your tennis. The times for Club Play are shown on the Social Tennis page [hyperlink].
During the winter, we offer a winter membership aimed at players from local clubs without floodlights to play throughout the winter.
On the more competitive side, the club fields five mixed doubles teams in the Harrogate and District Tennis League and the Ladies 1st team play in Division 1 of the Yorkshire League.
We have four outdoor courts: the three floodlit courts have been newly relaid in September 2010 with artificial grass. They provide an excellent surface to play on the whole year around.
As a club, which has been awarded with the LTA’s Clubmark badge, we:
Ensure the place to play has a fair and transparent
operational structure
Adhere to best practice policies and procedures around safeguarding junior and adult members/users
Deliver a comprehensive and all encompassing tennis programme for all ages and abilities
Produce a clear plan of action for long term sustainability and future growth
