The spire houses a peal of eight bells which is maintained in tip top condition and rings out many times every week. They are rung before daily prayers, before services, on special occasions and are very popular with visiting teams of ringers. Their sound rings out either up or down the valley of Nidderdale depending on the wind direction. The original five bells, plus an odd one given later, were recast during 1933 into the matched set of eight and mounted on a steel frame. Learners and experienced ringers are always welcome. Visiting teams are asked to first contact the Bell Captain Mr Maurice A Worsnop Tel 01423 770654.
