Beautiful BIRSTWITH Give      it         a            visit

• Birstwith is a delightful village not to be missed by anyone on holiday in North Yorkshire. It nestles in Nidderdale on the banks of the river Nidd just two miles upstream from Hampsthwaite. (See Map) It has a well stocked village shop, a pub -The Old Station Inn - that serves good  food throughout the day,(click for details) and a tranquil charm from the riverside to the ridges of the surrounding hills. It is a perfect centre for lazy summer walks and tempts the passing motorist to stop. Have a look at the Harrogate web site for details of many hotels, restaurants and activities in the area. A day to remember is the last Saturday in July. That is the day of  Birstwith Show! An event that has been held unbroken for over 100 years except for the war and due to Foot & Mouth in 2001
