The Intermediate Band as it is now has recently undergone changes to both its name and the role it has in the Tewit setup. In its previous form, it was known as the Junior Band and its main role was as a development area for future Senior Band members with a handful of jobs throughout the year.

After 20 years service to Tewit Youth Band, Intermediate Band conductor Ian McCandlish has stepped down. Tewit would like to thank Ian for the sterling job he has done with the Intermediate Band (formerly Junior Band). In his place we welcome Ben Tierney as MD of the Intermediate Band.

The Intermediate Band are now to become more independent under the 4 band system and take on more jobs throughout the year, and under the guidance of conductor Ben Tierney are expected to go from strength to strength.
